Ozzyhell Welcomes You !!!

MY OZZY EXPERIENCE! – WRITTEN BY OZZYHELL FOR MARCH 18, 2008.

Yes everyone!! I am actually still alive after witnessing the concert of a lifetime! Though there were moments where I thought I was gonna die from sheer happiness and excitement!!

My Hubby dropped my sister and I off at the Acer Arena around 6:30pm, then drove with my 3 kids to the cinema to watch “Meet The Spartans”. (Which the kids found funny and my hubby thought it was stupid.)

When we reached the stadium an announcement came through the speakers outside where we were standing and said that if anyone is caught with camera’s and recording devices they will be thrown out.  After hearing that I freaked cause I had a digital camera and mobile camera in my bag!  I thought they wouldn’t let us in and I began to panic. We finally decided to go through the gates and the security guy let us through even after checking my bag…which I thought was weird. Anyway, I bought the Black Rain T-Shirt and 2 Black Rain keyrings, and gave Betty one of them since she forgot to bring any cash with her.  We decided that since there were no cameras allowed in the concert  that I’d take a picture of us together with my camera phone in the Ladies Room, cause I was scared they’d confiscate it or something.

Once we found door entrance 4, we were ushered to our seats which happened to be row QQ seat numbers 84 and 85 and boy were we close!!!!

I noticed the people near us were half hiding their cameras and taking photos of each other so I asked if it was allowed and they said they were unsure and that’s why they were hiding it in case they were spotted.  I thought “That’s it!  I’m gonna ask the Usherette if we can use our camera’s and she said “Oh yes, you most certainly can, it’s only restricted for the professional cameras.” I quickly thanked her with a sigh of relief and a big smile on my face and then informed the others of the great news!

SEVENDUST came on after a while and they were bloody awesome!!!! They played quite a few songs, and the guy next to me was REALLY getting into it!!! Headbanging!! The works!! So I thought to myself “That’s great!! Now I can go crazy when Ozzy comes on since the guy next to me is on a high!”(Little did I know).

During the Intermission, before Ozzy came on, these 2 dudes came and sat right behind us so we felt less comfortable as they were able to hear our conversation and they were scrutinizing everything around them (In other words…they were total jerks). A few minutes later we heard a voice boom quickly over the speakers which sounded exactly like Ozzy’s sexy voice!!!!! We couldn’t make out what he said but we were sure it was him cause after a few minutes we heard him again ( he must’ve been testing his michrophone).  Then we heard him boom over the AC/DC music that was playing for our enjoyment ( as well as for Ozzy’s since that is what he listens to everynight before he comes on), by that time I was dumbfounded, and couldn’t say a word from shock, whereas Betty was the opposite at that moment!! She suddenly screamed SO LOUD that everybody began turning and staring at her! (Remember, it was intermission and the lights were all on so there was nowhere to hide!) I felt like we were under a spotlight!! I said to her “Wow, I thought I was bad!”, cause I felt SO in control of my emotions up until the lights dimmed to reveal the little movie outtakes that he presents to his fans before every concert. They were so funny from The Pirates Of The Caribbean, Lost, The Sopranos and many others, then….the crucifixes appeared on all 3 screens and I knew right then and there that the man himself was about to appear before us!!!!!!!!!  I felt my heart pound so fast and I began to tremble!!!!!!!!!!! Suddenly……There he was just after Zak began playing the intro for “I Don’t Wanna Stop”.  I began to scream so loud that I thought my tonsils were gonna find themselves right up on stage with him!! It was a moment that will stay with me till the day I die!!!!  I was trembling so much that I couldn’t hold the camera still, so I do apologise for all the camera shake in my videos!

He was amazing!!!! Zak Wylde also was unreal!! He did this amazing solo that lasted like 15 mins or more!! First he worked from the right hand side of the stage, then went to the left during which he played the guitar behind his head then plucked the strings with his teeth! (This was all reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix!!) He really played beautifully with a lot of feeling! Towards the end of his solo he was so in sync with his guitar playing, like he was making love to it!!! It was so erotic just to watch him play!! Kind of felt like we were all voyeurs watching him getting intimate with a woman cause that’s what his guitar solo reminded me of!! (I wonder if anyone else there had the same thoughts? If they didn’t then I must have a dirty mind!!!!)

Anyway Ozzy came back on stage for a few more songs, did his encores and finally finished with “Paranoid”.

During the whole concert he was so full of energy and his voice was as beautiful as ever!!!!

I have to admit though, there was one problem that stood out during the whole concert and that was most of the crowd!! From what I noticed the only ones that really got into it were the ones in the Mosh Pit!!  Most of the people around me were acting like they were dead! There was hardly ANY response from them!! Ozzy kept saying that “The more crazy you go the more we will play!” It was almost as if he had noticed the same thing about most of the audience as I did!!! And if that was the case then I am even more disappointed in those ‘zombie spectators’!!!!!!!!!

Remember the dude I told you about earlier that was sitting next to me and rockin’ out to Sevendust?  Well he acted as though he was sedated when Ozzy came on!! Now I don’t know if whether it was because he was in shock or not but nevertheless, he sure as hell didn’t have the same attitude as he did with the support act!! And because of his attitude and people around me I couldn’t get up and really headbang the way I was dying to and go crazier than I was going already! NOBODY WAS GETTING UP OFF THEIR SEATS!!! IT WAS RIDICULOUS!!!! HOW CAN YOU JUST SIT THERE THE WHOLE TIME AND NOT GO CRAZY?!! I ASK YOU? I  COULDN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! SO JUST AS OZZY BEGAN SINGING THE LAST SONG OF THE NIGHT, I JUST GOT UP AND WENT CRAZIER THAN EVER AND COULDN’T GIVE A SHIT WHAT ANYONE ELSE THOUGHT AT THAT POINT!!AFTER ALL THAT’S WHAT YOU DO AT A HM CONCERT!!!

Oh and by the way, several times during the concert, I had people leaving their seat and trying to get past us so they can go get a drink or whatever like we were at the bloody Footy or Cinema or something!!! Some people were even leaving before the concert was even over!!!!! HOW PATHETIC WAS THAT?! They just don’t appreciate great music when they hear it!! My hubby reckons that maybe they had to leave to catch the bus back home.  That to me is a very lame excuse!! If you go to see a concert you should always have a back up plan for getting home if you know you could miss the bus!

Anyway, at the end of the concert, Ozzy told us that next time he won’t wait another 11 years to come back to Australia!! So hopefully if and when he does come back to us the crowd won’t be comatose like they were last night!!! Shame on those ‘So- called’ fans from last night, they know who they bloody are!!!!!!!!
